Pennsylvania has gorgeous fall foliage and sights. Not only that, there are multiple themed festivals and events. It’s surprising how many are around the Pittsburgh area. There’s a whopping total of thirty-four events, albeit there are only twenty-one now available to attend. The others have finished, taking place between late August and September.
Beginning today, October 6, there are two. The first one takes places at Laurel Highlands, and it is the Confluence Pumpkinfest! The star of the fest, as many think, is the largest pumpkin contest. It’s not easy to grow something, and especially not when you’re trying your hardest to grow the biggest you can. That’s why it can be so exhilarating to see the results. The other festival is the Reel Q Pittsburgh LGBTQ+ Film Festival, which is in Pittsburgh, as stated by the name. The film festival could be the perfect place to relax while watching locally run movies. It’s stress free, unlike the Pumpkinfest, and it is the ideal thing for a relaxing fall. Both of these festivals are great for the beginning of October, and they seem so fun.
Going back to the foliage, however, there is another event coming up which actually starts tomorrow, October 7. It is the Fall Flower Show at the Phipps Conservatory & Botanical Gardens in Pittsburgh. So many people love flowers, and there are some gorgeous ones at the gardens. Alongside the wide variety of flowers, there’s a pond you can walk buy, and a pumpkin patch. There’s even a place to see bees and their process of honey making.
These are only some of the events in the region. It would be worth checking out the available ones, both the ongoing and upcoming. The fall season is here, that one is for sure. For those wanting to spice up their season, it doesn’t hurt to attend one of these festivals.
