Pumpkin or Apple is very common for baking in the fall and the winter time. And you can make lots of things with pumpkin and apples, so here is a recipe that you should try this year.
Homemade Apple Turnovers.
2 tablespoons lemon juice and 4 cups of water in a large bowl, and then add theĀ 4 Granny Smiths apples -Peeled, cord and sliced into the bowl to stop from browning. Melt 2 tablespoons butter and then drain and add in your Granny Smiths apples and mix them for 2 minutes. Then add 1 cup brown sugar and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon in with the Apples and mix for 2 more minutes. Stir your 1 tablespoon cornstarch in with 1 tablespoon of water and then cook them for 1 minute until it has thickened. Pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees F, and take your 1 (17.25) package frozen puff pastry sheets (make sure there thawed before using) cut them into 4’s and add the apple mixture onto them. Once done with that cook the pastry for 25 minutes until they are golden brown. Once done cooking set them aside and make your icing for the turnovers. You will need, 1 cup of confectioners’ sugar, 1 tablespoon of milk, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Mix them all together and drizzle over top of your turnovers and enjoy!
