Graduating Skills
In high school, students have to learn many skills before they go out and take on the real world.
Some of these skills may include problem solving, computer, and networking skills. What I think is the most useful skill that students should know before graduating high school is communication skills. A person’s intended profession will, no matter what, require them to communicate effectively and professionally. For a person to make it through life, they have to have good communication skills because a person can not just go through life without proper communication. For example, for a person to basically get a job they have to know how to speak to a coworker or even more importantly, the boss. When at a job, the person must speak to their coworkers or boss like they would their friends. For example, a person can not be all nervous and can not be stuttering while talking to someone. They have to be all loose, confident, and ready to go. High school helps you prepare yourself for good communication skills in the future by doing presentations in front of classmates, but that is the key. When talking to people, just act like they are your friends and there will be nothing to worry about.
I do not like presenting in front of a class because I get very nervous. I do not like when a lot of people are looking at me, and I am always afraid of everybody judging me and my presentation. But, I know to stay completely calm and do not lose focus on what I am presenting. If I had to choose an important skill to learn in high school before I graduate it would definitely have to be communication skills, especially if I plan on getting a job.
