2015: A New Year of Stuff
2016 is quickly approaching, and I honestly can’t wait. There is so much lined up for me in 2016! Well, maybe not all JUST for me, but it’s all pretty important stuff.
For starters, the High School Drama Club’s production of Shrek: The Musical will be open to the public at the end of February. I have the leading role of Shrek himself. It’s a big role, and a big honor as well, to be the lead in a musical.
Secondly, I will be able to take my driving test sometime in late March. If I pass, I’ll be presented with my driver’s license, which I don’t think I need to explain why that’s important.
Thirdly, I have my 18th birthday in September. I will finally be a legal adult in 2016 and be able to enjoy some of the privileges that come with that, and take it easy during my senior year of high school.
In 2016, I will be able to drive, get a job, and even vote.
Speaking of voting, 2016 is the year of our next presidential election. With Obama is unable to run again, we will have a chance to welcome a new face to the White House. Although the Electoral College and Gerrymandering are measures used to rig elections and make the average vote worthless, but I disagree. I may not be voting, but it’ll be hard to avoid all the election coverage and buzz on the news for a while, that and the fact that we will have a new leader, the changes will be a part of my life in 2016 whether I like it or not.
