The 9th Graders will have a chance to compete on an Economic Survival Game. The game will take place on March 14th, periods 1 through 6 in the auditorium.

The program is run by Mrs. Nusser of Seton Hill University. Mrs. Nusser comes to Jefferson-Morgan to talk to the middle school class each month. She teaches the kids the nescessary skills to know for when they are out on their own. Mrs. Nusser teaches the students how to write checks, pay bills, show them money mangment, etc.

The Economic Survival Game is a competition compared to the game of Life that the 9th graders have chance to particapte in. How it works is the students get a certain amount of money to start out with and they have to use it wisley. They will have a job that will pay them and are expected to have certain responsibilities. They will have to pay their bills, pay their rent, and pay for their groceries, etc., just like they would have to do when they are on their own. Students will also have to face unexpected conditions and natural disastors. Each hour they play, counts as a day. They will be facing different obstacle each day.

The Economic Surivial Game shows the students how life out of high school will be like. The students are shown money management. The students will learn how to use their money wisely and pay for their necessties. The game is a great experience to show students what they will have to encounter everyday out of high school.

Last Day to sign up for theEconomic Survival Game is March 9th in Mrs, Gratchics room. No more than 30 participants are allowed. See Mrs. Gratchic for additional information.
