Jefferson-Morgan High School will be having their first Alzheimer’s Walk. The walk will be held on Saturday, April 23 at the Rices Landing trail. The walk will start nine in the morning and begins at the head at the trail, continue to the end and back, making the walk a total of five miles. After the walk there will be food, fruit, and drinks for anyone who participated in the Alzheimer’s walk. Anyone who is participating in Jefferson-Morgan’s Alzheimer’s Walk can either walk alone for the event itself, or they can have fun with it and make a team.

This is Jefferson’s first year having the Alzheimer’s walk. The walk is being done this year for the National Honor Society (NHS) president’s project. Every year the president of the NHS must do a project for fundraising or to benefit something. This year’s president, Chase Kovalcheck, decided to do the Alzheimer’s walk. The walk will benefit people with Alzheimer’s. All of the money earned from the walk will be donated to the association for Alzheimer’s.

Anyone who wants to join is allowed to participate in the Alzheimer’s walk. Registration only costs ten dollars. The NHS started signing people up for the Alzheimer’s walk on April 1st and will continue to register people up until the morning of the walk. On the morning of the walk, April 23, anyone who has not registered and wishes to can from 8:30 to 9a.m. Currently the walk has a total of 70 people, and we hope all plan to take part in the walk. Good luck to anyone who is participating in the Alzheimer’s Walk!
