Student Drivers
Driving to school is a privilege for students and how long it takes them to get ready for school day. Students may not like to ride the bus or wake up in order to catch it. They can get to school at what time they would like to and take however long they want. With driving, students are not required to wait for the bus and are guaranteed a ride to school and back.
When students drive to school they still have to be here before 7:30 and have to drive at a respectful speed. Careless driving can put people in danger so when students pull onto school property they are required to be respectful. When drivers get to school they have to turn their keys in and mark that they are here. If this is not done they lose their driving privileges and it is back to riding the yellow school bus.
“I enjoy driving to school because I can stop and get a drink or a sandwich on the way,” Cameron Celaschi said.
At the end of every day student drivers grab their keys, but they cannot leave the parking lot until the busses have left. Pulling out in front of the busses will make one lose their driving privileges as well. Students are to fill out information before they can drive to school.
“Driving allows me to get to school when I want to, and also it allows me to get more sleep,” Erin Sullenbarger said.
Students must respect the rules when it comes to driving. They must be responsible adults so that way everyone can stay safe. Drivers may sometimes break the rules, but they will be punished and also lose their driving privileges.
