Spanish Cruise

There was a Spanish cruise on May 10, 2016. The Foreign Language Club as well as kids from Spanish 1, 2, and 3 went on the trip. It was held in Pittsburgh on The Gateway Clipper. Anyone could attend this event even parents and kids that graduated in the past. It was a great learning experience and taught students about the Hispanic culture.

Kids left the school at 3:30 and boarded at 6:30. Three hours may be a long time to get to Pittsburgh, but they made a little pit stop along the way at Sarris Candies. After Sarris they made their way to The Gateway Clipper.

“I enjoyed going on the Spanish Cruise. I had a lot of fun with my friends and I liked the experience on the boat,” Ashley Rockwell said.

The Gateway Clipper gave a great Hispanic experience. Hispanic foods were served and live music was played. Everyone was also taught how to do a Spanish dance. The boat sailed past PNC Park, as well as Heinz Field and Carnegie Science Center.

“Going on the Gateway Clipper was a lot of fun and I would like to do it again,” Olivia Ricci said.

The weather was not very cooperative with the cruise due to the rain. The cruise still went on and it was a fun time for many students.
