New Face at JM

There is a new face at the Jefferson-Morgan High School Volleyball games. Her name is Julia Lash. She just recently took over the head coach position after Anthony Crawley resigned. Some people might know of Mrs. Lash because she was the substitute secretary in the high school last year when Pat Shaffer couldn’t come in. Also Julia graduated from Jefferson-Morgan in 2008 and also played volleyball. Since Julia moved up to the head coaching position so that means we need an assistant coach. The position went up and Sean Lohrer applied for it. People from Jefferson are more likely to know Mr. Lohrer because he is the middle school English teacher. He also has coached middle school boys basketball and volleyball.

During the beginning of the season a lot happened and all that we have on our minds is winning section. We want to make it to playoffs and go as far as we possibly can. Last year we lost by one game, which happened to be to Frazier. They are the team to beat this year. Since this being my last year I want it to be one that I will remember for a long time.
I am not looking forward to October 20th because it is senior night. We play West Greene and I will probably cry most of the night. The only things I am looking forward to are getting pictures with all my friends and family, receiving flowers, and gifts. Also everyone on the team writes letters to the seniors to wish them good luck in the future and the seniors write to the other varsity players. I am going to miss Julia and my other senior friends so much. I do not plan on continuing volleyball in college because I want to focus on school. Also my body probably won’t be able to handle another four years because of my bad back.
