Jefferson-Morgan has recently begun to do morning announcements via video on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday each week. The class who makes the announcements is broadcast journalism, and it is a semester class.
The JM Live team is made up of Evan O’Neal, Grant Hathaway, Patrick Mullen, Nathan Bauza, and Kierstyn Webster. The teacher running the class is Mr. Pochran, who has a role similar to a manager. It’s done through sign ups, each student choosing what they want to partake in. Most often, Hathaway and Bauza do the sports segments, and they are also the ones who appear on camera the most. O’Neal, Mullen, and Webster are all editors, although Mullen does do many of the interviews. Monday’s announcement is focused on Mr. Loring, where he updates everyone about important news for that week. Wednesday is a full announcement day, and Friday’s are for special ones, which are the crew’s choice.
