What is Christmas about? This question is being asked more and more as the years progress. I personally believe it is because people are losing sight of what is important on all the holiday seasons. They have taken a holiday, that is about family, friends, and memories, and made it about material items, values, prices.

The holiday known as Christmas is losing its meaning. It is the one day of the year where you are supposed to have fun and create memories with your family, spend time with them, and cherish the bond you all have. But unfortunately with the children of this generation, everything has been turned completely around.

They hate spending time with their family and they would much rather have an Xbox or a PS4 as well as hundreds of dollars worth of material items and games, toys, etc. Christmas is slowly deteriorating into this holiday where thousands of dollars are pumped into stores leaving some people in debt. All because they wanted to please their child with the newest toys and the latest trends. Christmas used to be about family and memories; getting to spend the day with loved ones letting them know you care about them.

There are certain things money can’t buy and to some a homemade gift means more than a brand new PS4 or something like that. But long story short, the point I am trying to relay is that Christmas is about family, friends, and creating memories even though with this generation it is about material items.
