Student Council President Candidate: Jamie Lawrence
Jefferson-Morgan students are running for student council in the month of April. All the positions are president, vice president, secretary/treasurer, and class president, vice president, and secretary/treasurer.
Jamie Lawrence said, “I am running for student council president because I want to better our school and help communicate the student’s ideas to Mr. Orr.”
Lawrence has run for class secretary this year and got the honor of winning that position. As class secretary she had come up with more fundraisers that the students would be more involved with for the class of 2017.
”I feel I should be student council president because I’m already secretary of the class and I attend all of the meetings. Because of that I have a feel for how things are ran. This is very important to me and I feel I could get some good things for the student body,” said Lawrence.
One of the ideas Lawrence has if she were to get the position of student council president would be to have a semi-formal homecoming dance.
”I am nervous about the voting. It is going to be tough waiting that day to find out if I won or not,” said Lawrence.
If Jamie were not running for the position of student council president, she would run for the position of vice president.
The voting for Jefferson-Morgan student council is April 19th. Good luck to everyone running for student council!
