Tuff Puff
For the second consecutive year, the Jefferson-Morgan boys will travel to Carmichaels High School to battle the Mikes in a Tuff Puff volleyball game on Friday, November 18. The boys of JM are the defending winners of the game from last year, so they will be looking to successfully win the game on back to back occasions. A mixture of boys from grades 9 through 12 will be competing against the team that Carmichaels has aligned.
Many of the members of the team are very excited to participate in this game. Much like powderpuff for the girls, it is an opportunity that arises one time a year for the boys of the school, so they are very eager to travel to Carmichaels and attempt to pick up the victory on Friday night.
Joseph Headlee is one of the members of the team. He is definitely excited to make an impact on the court that will hopefully help his team be victorious. “I think it’s a great opportunity to get to play volleyball against another school,” said Headlee. “All of the guys have been working hard all week to make sure that we can get out of there with a win.”
The players have also learned a new respect for the game also by being able to play it instead of just watch it from the stands. The girls volleyball team has been coaching them to help them learn the basics and to help them succeed when it finally comes time for the game.
“It’s been a lot of fun working with the guys,” says Coach Jamie Lawrence. “It seems like they want to get better so that they can win. It would be absolutely great to see them pick up the win on Friday to see all of that hard work pay off.”
Come out and support the Rocket boys on November 18 at Carmichaels High School to watch them pick up the win against the Mikes!
