Girls Basketball
The season is finally here! The Jefferson Morgan High School Girls Basketball team has officially started practice.
Last year, the girls made history by winning section champs and moving onto playoffs. The girls are hoping to make a repeat of last season. This year is going to be a little different because some key players graduated. The three seniors, Erin Confortini, Anna Mattish, and Jamie Lawrence, will have to pull their team together and make this season a great one.
“It is crazy to think that this is my last year playing basketball. It feels like it was just yesterday we were all playing on Impact,” said Jamie Lawrence.
The three seniors have been playing all four years, but none of them plan on continuing in college. Their plan for this season is to have a lot of fun with their coaches, teammates, and to make playoffs. The girls will start the 2017 season with a tournament on December 9th at Freedom. This season won’t be easy because they are such a young team.
“I want to go out with a bang this year. This being my last year is bittersweet because I am going to miss basketball and my friends, but I am super excited to continue my education,” said Erin Confortini.
Good luck to the three seniors and the rest of the team when they take on the 2017 season.
Their first home game is against Waynesburg on December 12th starting at 7:00 pm.
