First Semester is Over
It is finally here, the first semester is over. Students at Jefferson Morgan are either preparing for and recovering from their midterms. Midterms are a separate grade that will average together with the final for a grade in the class. Being a senior is quite relaxing, because I only have two midterms . Over the years, I would have like 5-6 midterms per year, but since I only have two mandatory classes, it is pretty nice.
“I am extremely happy that the first semester is over because that means I am a bit closer to graduating and starting college,” said Taylor Walker.
For most students, this is like a little push towards the end of the year. Senior are preparing for college and applying for scholarships. For a lot of colleges, it is right around the deadline to apply. Also it is very important for seniors to apply for scholarships, because it helps out with managing money. Juniors should be applying for the SATs or ACTs. It the busy time of the school year where the upperclassmen are preparing for the future.
“The fact that I have to apply for the SATs is kinda scary, but I am excited for the future,” said Katey Wolfe.
Since the second nine weeks are over that means softball is starting up. Barbetta, the head coach, always starts after midterms to practice, but he retired this year and Rich Rush is taking over. The softball team will have their first open gym on January 12th at 7:00 pm. Also other spring sports will be starting practice soon. The end of the semester is a new beginning for my for grades and sports. For me this is my last two nine weeks as a Jefferson Morgan Rocket.
The new year is here and so is the new semester. Students should keep working hard to get good grades.
