NHS Blood Drive
The National Honor Society’s annual blood drive will be on March 20th. It will be held in the school gymnasium. Students sixteen years of age and older can sign up to donate. Staff members are more than welcome to donate too.
There are many things the NHS helps with and blood drives are one of them. Blood drives are very important. By donating blood, a person can potentially save up to three lives. Out of every seven people who enter a hospital, one person needs blood. One thing the National Honor Society does with students who are in the organization is it helps students become more active in community service. Students become more aware of things and want to help out. Blood drives are a great way of helping out one’s local community.
Students who sign up to donate blood must have the permission slip signed by a parent and must have a drivers license. Students who do not have a drivers license will be identified through the yearbook. All permission slips can be found with your English teacher and must be turned into Mrs. Huba or Jamie Lawrence.
A sign up list is available outside of Mrs. Huba’s door. Students should take up this opportunity to help others and potentially save lives.
