Does Yuka Score an Excellent?
Yuka is a free mobile app that allows you to scan barcodes of food and cosmetic products. This lets you see the product’s impact on your health. In addition, it gives other cleaner and healthier recommendations to substitute the bad products.
Yuka was launched in 2017 by three co-founders: brothers Benoit and François Martin, and friend Julie Chapon. Each co-founder has had a different impact on the app. Chapon is in charge of communication and content creation. The two brothers take control of the technical aspects. Benoit is responsible for Android application, while François does IOS.
One pro of using Yuka is that is known to be a reliable app as it is 100% independent. Also, Yuka is in no way biased to any particular product or brand. The app does not accept collaborations with brands seeking to be promoted.
On the contrary, one downside to the app is that it can take awhile to scan or load your desired product. Many people have used Yuka on multiple phones, data, and different Wi-Fi networks, but it still sometimes takes an hour or more to load the product. In addition, sometimes the product may disappear and reappear after a time.
Overall, the Yuka app is a great app to use to determine different impacts on health factors. There are pros and cons of using Yuka, but in the end, it is a free app that can be very useful. It is available on the App Store of any platform.
