Primanti Bros., originally from Pittsburgh, PA, is a restaurant that features North American cuisine. They’re primarily a sandwich shop, but they do have other food types available.
The Great Depression is what spurred the creation of Primanti Bros. 1933, Joe Primanti was running a small sandwich cart within Pittsburgh’s Strip District. With good sales, Joe was able to open an entire storefront. The majority of his clientele were truck drivers and shift workers. Their iconic sandwich style, with fries on top and such, was made only by thoughtlessly slapping fries on a sandwich when customers asked for some. It was a hit, and it became one of their bestsellers.
The portion sizes at Primanti Bros. are great for their prices. They have multiple appetizers, such as their Crazy Big Bavarian Pretzel, Breaded Mozzarella Wedges, and Batter-Dipped Pub Pickles. The pretzel is $9.49; the wedges are $8.29; the pickles are $6.99.
Their big thing is their Almost Famous Sandwiches and their Tall Boys. Each sandwich is on Italian white bread and automatically comes with melted provolone, tomatoes, fresh-cut fries and coleslaw on it. They have a variety to choose from with different meats, and the Tall Boys have extra meat on them. Almost Famous Sandwiches range from $8.99 to $12.99, while the Tall Boys are from $10.99 to $12.29. Like the appetizers, the sizes of the sandwiches make the prices worth it.
That isn’t all though. Apps and sandwiches are not the only items on the menu; they have a variety of pizzas, customizable, too, fries, salads, and wings. Everything is worth a try because it’s all great.
Primanti Bros. is a walk-in restaurant, they do not take reservations. It’s suitable for both adults and children, as they do have a kids menu, but the restaurant overall is geared for adults. They have an app called FanFare Rewards available on both Google Play and the App Store. With the app, you can gain reward points and use them for free food. The nearest location is in Washington, PA. Their number is 724-201-2903.
