On Friday, September 15th, Jefferson-Morgan held its second pep rally of the year for the school’s game against California in the gymnasium.
The pep rally consisted of various activities. The cheerleaders went to each student section and encouraged students to chant, the football players received their recognition, and an epic showdown of a game called “poms” occured.
“I think that game was really interesting,” said Jacie Manning.
The game “poms” is simple. The announcer says either heads, shoulders, knees, or toes, and the player puts their hands as followed. Once the announcer shouts “poms”, the player tries to beat their opponent and grab the pom-poms on the ground before they’re beaten to it.
“Ms. Kniha had some lightning-fast reflexes,” said Katarina Martin.
The final two in the competition were Jack Shaffer and Ms. Kniha. It was a very intense game to even watch, and both of them proved they have some very quick reflexes indeed.
