During the Fall and Craft Vendor Show on September 30th the Envirothon Club sponsored a table selling and promoting their JM Honey Program.
Mrs. Cox and Mrs. Boyle are the sponsors of this club. At the table Grant Hathaway and Casey Herrod were working the table along with Mrs. Cox and Mrs. Boyle, the club and program sponsors. The jars sold for $10 each along with a informaton sheet with facts about bees and their honey they produced. The honey is from the school’s bee hive. They sold 89 jars of honey out of the 97 they had in supply, the honey jars sold for $10 each. Along with honey, they sold bracelets, key chains, tattoos, and fluffy bees.
“I loved sitting with Mrs. Cox selling the honey because I got to learn a lot of cool facts about bees.” said Casey Herrod.
In addition, The sponsors held a competition at the elementary for students to make designs for the jars of honey to be sold. There were 4 contestants, Emily Stickovich’s design had the most votes, therefore she won the honey jar label contest. The jars of honey now all have her logo she designed for the competition. The students in Envirothon voted for each design with the names being anonymous so they didn’t know who drew the designs. They voted hers as the most liked design, even though they all were very good and unique.
Mrs. Boyle says, “There were a lot of creative crafts there that I liked to look around. Overall I had a blast!”
