Another year is on the Horizon for Youth Traffic Safety (AKA SADD), and and the students and their sponsor, Mr. Corbett are excited for things to come in the upcoming year. The club will be going on monthly trips to gain knowledge about driving safety and other ways to prevent dangerous decisions and bring them back to school. Their first trip will be on September 23 to the Intermediate Unit. That however, will be the first trip of many to learn about becoming a safe person behind the wheel and in other places as well.

“I’m very excited for this upcoming year,” explained Mr. Corbett, the sponsor of SADD. “We have some new kids coming along with us this year, so that means new opportunities to learn and share information to other students.” Mr. Corbett has been the sponsor of this club ever since Mr. Rafail retired a few years ago. He is very enthusiastic about the club’s activities for the year and looks forward to spending time with the members.

Meetings at the Intermediate Unit are very informative, but they are not the only thing that the club participates in throughout the year. Project Adventure is an event that takes place at Beth Center each year. A meeting at Seven Springs also happens in the winter for the officers of the club. Other events include a mock crash, a driving simulator workshop, and a dinner at Angelo’s. There are some very exciting events going on this year, and the members are looking forward to attending.
