I give back to my community by being part of the Rice’s Landing Volunteer fire Company. During the really cold season we open the fire hall to people who do not have heat or need somewhere to stay for the afternoon. I help make food, hot chocolate and coffee. The fire department is always on call during the holiday season it does not matter if it is Christmas or New Year’s someone is there for a call. It is just not about one person doing community serves at the fire hall. Every member is a volunteer and takes time out of their day to help people and never complain about doing so.

My friend Casey Wilson and Gage Clark also gives back to the community.  We go throughout the town and shovel snow for the old ladies who cannot do so themselves. So we go around with snow shovels and we clear of sidewalks and drive ways. We don’t walk up to the house and ask for money we just start shoveling by ourselves. We usually get up early to start so we can start on some houses that are far away from our street that all three of us live on. Sometimes if we are doing a lot of snow some of the old ladies will sometimes give all five dollars for shoveling their snow. Sometimes we hope that it snows in the middle of the day so that we can go out and shovel snow during the night because we have nothing better to do during the winter.
