May Your Easter Be Eggtastic For You!
The chocolate bunny is known as a gift that you get on Easter morning by the Easter bunny, but do you know the history behind the delicious chocolate bunny?
It was originally made in Germany in the mid-19th century and it started to make an appearance in the 1890s by an American shop owner Robert Storhecker. He created a five-foot-tall chocolate bunny as a promotion in his drug store. The rabbit was a popular symbol of spring because of its fecundity. There’s a German legend that after a long winter sleep, an Easter Bunny would lay brightly colored eggs in the grass for good children to find. Mrs. Huba said, “Every easter my grandma would eat the ears off the chocolate bunny before she give it to me.” Devin Villarreal said, “Chocolate bunnies taste good!”
Go out, get a chocolate bunny, and you’ll live hoppily ever after!
