Spring is Here and Easter is Near!
There’s a long standing tradition of decorating hard boiled eggs, commonly known as Easter Eggs. These eggs are colored with bright colors to remind you spring is here and Easter is near. Eggs are a traditional sign of rebirth and new life, which was practiced by the Orthodox Churches. Although Orthodox Churches adopted this, most people decorate eggs or have egg decor and are not an Orthodox.
“My family decorates Easter eggs a week before Easter,” says Elsa Roberts
The coloring or painting of eggs came around because eggs were forbidden during lent, so they started coloring and painting them for decoration. The colors of the eggs are mainly pastels of the rainbow because they are a symbol of sheer joy. They bring a gentle and comforting feeling to Easter. The warm and cool breeze of spring brings a warm presence. Eggs are very easy to find in the spring as the hens are laying, and chicks are being hatched, you can’t go wrong decorating eggs.
“Easter eggs decorating is a very memorable activity to do each year,” says Devin Villarreal.
