The First Annual Autism Awareness Walk
On Saturday, April 29, Jefferson-Morgan High School held their first annual Autism Awareness Walk. This walk was created by Mrs. Cochran, Mrs. McIntire, and Ms. Benson with the help of National Honor Society’s President Preston Wood.
“I had such a great time seeing everyone walk and lending a hand for such a great cause. It had a great turn out,” said Preston Wood.
This event took place from 12 PM to 2 PM. During the event, there was free face painting, auction baskets, 50/50 raffle, Kona ice, BBQ by James Shirley, J.Lynn designs, Aunties Lollicakes, along with 5 Kats Kreations. Due to the inclement weather, participants had the chance to walk inside or outside.
“It was nice to see the community come out and support such a great cause”, said Jenna Cyr.
While this is the first year for the walk, it won’t be the last. For more information and pictures of the walk, click here.
