New Year’s Eve is a world wide celebration when the new is just around the corner. On New Year’s Eve there are many traditions from when the ball drops and the new year has begun.
Other than the ball being dropped with a countdown to midnight on December 31st, Colombians started carrying empty suitcases around all day. They believe that if you carry an empty suitcase around that the upcoming year will be filled with travel. These suitcases don’t have to be big, as long as it’s a suitcase hopefully you will be traveling a lot in the new year. Although it is said that the year will be filled with travel the guidelines aren’t clear on whether its vacation travel or work travel. Whatever the travel may be it would certainly be nice to get out of the house for a few days in a new location.
