There is a wide range of movies out there in the world, but there’s also plenty within the horror genre. People have their preferred movies, ones that will always be at the top of their lists, and this is my list of top horror movies.
My number one movie will always be Insidious. It was one of the first films I can remember watching, and I just remember loving it as a kid. Since then I’ve watched all of the following ones that came out, but the first holds a special spot in my heart.
My second would be Annabelle I think. The reason it’s so high on the list is mainly just for the fact that it was able to make me terrified of dolls like that. It left an impression on me.
Similarly to my second, my third is The Purge. For some reason, my younger self was scared of something like the purge happening, and I’m not scared of it now, I just think it’s interesting how it was able to affect me in a way.
For the fourth, I’d go with The Exorcist. That is a movie I haven’t watched forever, but I do remember loving it quite a bit. It’s a movie that you can go back and watch, and that’s what appeals to me. There are some movies that are a one and done for me.
It’s a good movie, so for my fifth movie, I’m choosing Fear Street Part One: 1994. I loved the entire trilogy, having watched them back when they were released. The intricacy gets my attention so well.
It was hard to create this top five list. I’ve grew up on horror movies, so having to pick out just five was difficult. There’s such a wide range of movies, new and old, that it really just depends on your taste.
