For me, music is very hard to dwindle down when it comes to picking favorites. However, I’ve officially lessened my list to just five albums, and this is my list.
1: “Infinity on High” by Fall Out Boy – This album is incredible. It’s full of fun energetic songs with some of the most catchiest melodies you’ll ever hear. The perfect pop punk album.
2: “Phobia” by Breaking Benjamin – The band’s third studio album is definitely their best by far. “Phobia” is such a fun album to go back on and the riffs hit so hard. “Breath” is one of my favorite songs over the last few months and I realized how good it is after first hearing it many years ago.
3: “King for a Day, Fool for a Lifetime” by Faith No More – One of the best metal albums of the 90s for sure. It’s such an addictive album to listen to and Mike Patton’s vocals are truly the finishing touch in all of the band’s music. I’m still debating on whether it’s better overall than “Angel Dust”.
4: “Trilogy” by The Weeknd – It’s more so a compilation album of three different mixtapes, but I’m still counting it as an album. It’s such an experience to listen to for the first time and especially when you go through all 30 songs without taking breaks. Even if you don’t want to do that, though, you can listen to each of the 3 mixtapes that make up “Trilogy” separate from one another.
5: “Zach Bryan” by Zach Bryan – Country is not my thing at all, but this album is amazing. It’s one of the highlights of 2023 when it comes to music and only gets better with more listens. From “Overtime” to “Summertime’s Close” to “Jake’s Piano – Long Island”, this record is one that is definitely worth listening to no matter what kind of music you like.
Overall, these are just 5 of the albums that I really love right now out of the hundreds that I love overall. All of these are definitely deserving of a listen or two.
