We all know the popular catchphrase, “April showers bring May flowers,” but why does it actually rain so much during the spring season? And fun fact: the Northern Hemisphere typically receives more rain in its spring season than the Southern Hemisphere does in it spring season.
The explanation behind this is simple. Clouds, as we know, form from water vapor, and in the midst of the spring-to-summer transition, the air surrounding us gradually warms up. As a result, the cold air from winter mixes with the incoming warm air of summer, and the mixed air rises and rain escapes from the moisture. It’s a much simpler analysis than most people would think.
With that said, we get so much rain in the spring because of the mixture of cold and warm air from the past and present seasons. Spring is approaching very soon and we will start to see more rain showers soon!
