One of the first things that comes to mind when we think of summer is the 4th of July, or Independence Day. It’s a federal holiday in the United States where we recognize and celebrate our country by partaking in various activities. There are numerous ways people spend their 4th of July!
This holiday is frequently associated with fireworks. Fireworks are just an overall common thing people do during celebrations; we also tend to let them off on New Year’s. But the deeper reason for fireworks on the 4th of July is that John Adams wrote to his wife that we should celebrate with fireworks back in 1776, referring to Independence Day. Other things people do are activities such as barbecuing, swimming, parades, and bonfires. Depending on where you live, many places will also hold more patriotic activities where people commemorate veterans and fallen soldiers.
Overall, Independence Day is a holiday many Americans enjoy celebrating. It brings friends and family together and the possibilities with celebrating this holiday are truly endless–you just have to put your mind to it.
