On May 27th, the federal holiday Memorial Day takes place and students at Jefferson-Morgan School District are off for the day.
Every last Monday of May, we observe Memorial Day. It’s a day for commemorate and honor USA military personnel who lost their lives from serving in the USA armed forces. It’s been an observed holiday since 1868 with official recognition beginning in 1873. In our state in Doylestown, they hold an annual parade for the holiday–which they have done every year since 1868.
Memorial Day is a great day to really appreciate what our fallen soldiers have done for us and our country.
