On New Year’s Eve, a common tradition many families have is watching the Ball Drop, a symbol of the new year officially beginning, in the comfort of their own home, or at a friends.
Just like any other family, my family also celebrates the New Year by watching the Ball Drop every single year. Every year, since I was a kid, my family has always put on the Ball Drop and watched it, and it’s something I enjoy doing every single year as well. It’s almost as if the Ball Drop is a ritual, an act that, by watching it, hopefully the new year will bring new joys.
So, every year, without fail, my family gathers to watch the Ball Drop, and with every Ball Drop, new hopes come in the form of the next year being better than the last.
