With the fall sports season winding down to an end, the student section shows no sign of stopping their support of the Rocket athletes. Better known as the J-Crew, the student section has been showing their support for the football players and the volleyball players all season long. This support doesn’t seem like it will be ending anytime soon either. Winter sports are slowly approaching and the students will be ready to support both basketball teams as well as the wrestlers at both home and away games.

One of the members of the student section for both the volleyball and the football games is Isaac Dean. He is definitely one of the more outspoken members of the J-Crew and he is also one of the members that organizes the themed nights. “It’s a great time for all of us there,” said Dean. “It gives us an opportunity to come out and support our teams as a unit. The themes add another fun aspect to it as well. We love cheering on our teams so why not good while doing it?” Dean as well as other members of the student section come to nearly every game and they are quite dedicated to it.

The J-Crew is not only a good time for the students in it, but it also is enjoyable for members of the teams. The excitement generated from the student section can really get the players excited about the game. “The chants and the yelling always gets us so hyped up about the game that we’re in,” explained Jamie Lawrence, member of the volleyball team. “It also really helps us to keep our heads up when we’re down. It gives us a reason to keep fighting and get back in it.”

Lots of things are planned for the J-Crew in the remainder of the year. The JM Pep Band will be at their side during the winter sports season. For Senior Night, the crowd will be participating in the Orange Crush Color Rush. Many other exciting things and events will also be taking place for the J-Crew for the rest of the year.
