Trevor Kniha is a senior and a member of the baseball team.

Kniha will be returning to the diamond for the the first time this year since his stint at the little league level.  However, that won’t stop the senior from making great contributions to the team over the course of the season.

“I really hope to play well, no matter where I’m positioned on the field,” says Kniha.  “I also look to put the ball in play whenever I get the opportunity at the plate.”

With a player as athletic as Kniha is, the coaching staff could likely play him in most any spot that is needed.  In the early running’s of the season, Kniha looks to make third base his home.  His strong arm can be put to use there as a utility man.

Kniha has stated that he really enjoys playing third.  “It’s the hot corner baby,” Kniha explained.  “I love that you always have to be ready no matter what.  You could get a hard ball down the line or you might even have to charge the ball on a bunt.”

Baseball is a team sport, and as much as Kniha wants to be successful on the individual aspect of the game, he also wants the team to be successful.  Every successful team has a way to get through tough things.  Kniha elaborated on what the team does to succeed.

“I think that everyone just looks to each other in tough times,” said Kniha. “Everyone wants to succeed, so we are all just very supportive of one another.”

Kniha hopes for the Rockets to be playoff contenders this year.  He wants to make his senior year of baseball a great year.
