Cole Tretinik is a freshman and a member of the baseball team.

Tretinik has been playing baseball ever since he was 4 years old. He says that high school baseball has been a whole new experience for him.

“It’s been a rousing experience. I enjoy being part of the team and helping however I can. I love playing first base because it’s just like playing catch,” said Tretinik. More than anything though, Tretinik loves being a part of the team. He loves warming up with the team before games and interacting with his teammates.

Arguably the most difficult part of being a freshman in not just baseball, but any high school sport is making the adjustments. There are so many differences between high school and middle school sports that it can sometimes be tough to make those adjustments. In high school, athletes are playing against stronger, bigger, and faster competitors, which can pose a challenge for any 15 year old freshman. Tretinik pushes himself to get through that adjustment.

“I just want to try to get on the field and do what I can to help my team win,” Tretinik said. As a freshman it can sometimes be difficult to make contributions to the team, but Tretinik likes to keep a positive attitude. He helps as much as he can in whatever way possible.
