Patrick Dowling is a sophomore and a member of the golf team.

This is Patrick’s first year golfing and he got interested around the end of last year, “I find being outside most rewarding and working on my game. At the end of last year I got interested in golf and have gotten better at it. It makes the game more fun filled once you’ve learned and put effort into something you enjoy.” Since Patrick has improved and gotten better he plans on going far with the sport.

In addition to playing golf for the Jefferson Morgan team, Dowling also plays on his free time. His grandfather got him interested in the sport last year and is only going to play during high school but, he wants to go farther with golf if he can. Dowling enjoys being around the other members that golf; because there are not many people and more opportunities to golf.

Although Patrick loves being a member of the golf team, he always puts school work first, “Focusing on school is important and if I decided not to golf, I would worry more about school. The Villages Florida is the best place to golf but, even better when you’re alone and my best performance was with the Jefferson team.”

Pactrick puts a lot of effort into golfing. Patrick says that “Practice is what makes you better; getting your swing right, putting and driving takes concentration and work.” Next year, Patrick plans on playing golf and hopefully earning a letter from all the work he put forth in the school year.
