Morgan Simkovic is a senior and a member of the Jefferson-Morgan softball team.

Simkovic is very avid about the sport, and has been playing since first grade.

“It’s always been something I’ve had a strong passion for,” said Simkovic.

We all want Lady Luck to be on our side and have little trinkets we use to help get her on our side. For Simkovic, this is her ‘Team Dugan’ bracelet.

“For the past two years, I’ve always put it in my back pocket to keep a little remembrance of Coach Chris Dugan with me,” Simkovic explained.

Most player have a specialty; a role or position they love to be in the most, and Simkovic is no different.

“I absolutely love shortstop” said Simkovic. “But it is one of the tougher positions on the field and I love the challenge and adrenaline I get when the ball is hit to me.”

No one is perfect. We all have flaws and imperfections and room to improve. As Simkovic explains, hers is hitting.

“I can always work to improve my hitting during the season.”

Simkovic’s favorite memory from her time on the softball team is winning the WPIAL title.

“Having the entire county back out team up was a truly unbelievable and memorable experience,” said Simkovic.
