The 4th annual “Walk for Mullen” is September 30, 2023 at 12 PM. The event will be held at Mather Serenity Space. 

This event was started by Anita Mullen after her son, Michael Mullen, committed suicide.  “I wanted to help spread awareness and to make sure everyone knows where to go to find help if they are having suicidal ideation, or if they had any kind of mental health needs.I also wanted to raise money to put some small serenity areas in our school, in honor of Michael. With funds raised from our first walk, I added a sitting area onto the elementary playground, with a bench and table and a little walking bridge. There are painted rocks and a bench in the front lobby courtyard at the high school that were added in honor of Michael,” said Mullen.

Participation in the walk is free; however, participants will have the chance for Chinese Auction prizes.  There will also be plenty of free materials and resources for mental health awareness.

During the walk, Michael’s favorite classic rock songs will be played.  “Help us raise awareness and erase the stigma.”
