Last month, JM’s student council hosted their annual fall mum sale where members sold a variety of the flowers in colors ranging from red, white, purple, yellow, and orange.
“The mum sale has been a big fundraiser for the student council for years,” Stacie Kniha said. “People like to purchase mums every fall as they are perennial plants.” The sale itself has been very successful within the past years, and these reasons attribute to why its so successful.
With only ten dollars per pot, people were rushing to buy mums from our students. Student council members were able to sell a total of 242 mums during the pre-sale. However, at the Fall Craft and Vendor Show, they were able to sell even more. Overall, it was a total success.
“The orange mums seem to be the most popular, and they are my personal favorite as well,” Kniha said. Since orange was the favored color, it’s easy to assume that the favoritism could have been connected to the fall season.
