Everyone most likely knows about the new, reboot show for Percy Jackson and the Olympians that came out in December. However, there are two, lesser known shows that are in the works!
HBO is in the process of making a show centered around the Harry Potter series made by J. K. Rowling, who released the first book Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (or, Philosopher’s Stone for the British version) in 1997. HBO confirmed the show’s production via Twitter in April of 2023. Despite being three months away from the year mark of confirmation, there is no news of casting or the like.
Around the same time frame, ish, there was a release of another novel that turned into a popular series: the Twilight series. Twilight was published in 2005 by Stephenie Meyer. Unlike HBO’s remake, this Twilight TV series is in very early development. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed it’s in the works, but there is no screenwriter or platform yet. Lionsgate Television has the rights to the franchise, though, and Lionsgate was the original production company for the movies.
Some people are excited to see their old movie & book series get redone; others are totally appalled and despise the idea. To read more on the Twilight reboot, visit this article by J-14. On the flip side, go to this article by Screen Rant for more on the Harry Potter reboot.
