The answer is YES!
Nvidia has launched its new robot project as a part of Project GR00T, a robot built to handle the operation of robots, which is a major upgrade to Nvidia’s AI capability.
The project focuses on developing foundation models or AI that uses self taught learning rather than another instructor or having to take training classes. Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang showcased many different types of robots, which included Star Wars themed robots, at Nvidia’s GTC Conference. Regardless of the concerns over the AI models running their own robot operations, Nvidia’s revenue rose 206% in Q4 2023 due to the escalation in interests and demands in artificial intelligence. Later that year, the United Kingdom promised to spend hundreds of millions of pounds to purchase chips for research and development to start ‘breakthroughs’ and remain at the forefront of the artificial intelligence industry. The company’s push towards the artificial intelligence industry began in late 2023. Then after 2023 the company sort of ‘hid from people’ until The New Yorker published an article about Huang’s efforts to put together Nvidia’s computer graphics research with its generative Al research.
Nvidia is working hard to increase the amount of artificial intelligence within the company and the economy, using self-taught robots.
