An artist by the name of Marco Evaristti located in Denmark had been starving three piglets for his art exhibition. People had mixed feelings about the matter and some thought it was straight animal cruelty. Due to the controversial idea the piglets he was using for the display were stolen on March 5,2025.
In addition, it turns out that the piglets had been stolen by animal rights activists who were actually friends with or associated with the artist. The name of the exhibition was called “Now You Care.” Evaristti refused the piglets water and food that would eventually result in the deaths of the animals. He did this to show and raise awareness about animal cruelty and how we do not pay much mind to it in our day to day lives. The farms in Denmark claim that they produce about twenty piglets at a time with only fourteen teats for them to feed off of. This ultimately results in the tiny piglets fighting for food and eventually a few die of starvation.
In conclusion, everyone had different ideas of the approach that the artist had taken. Although he was raising awareness of how many animals are abused, many did not take it that way. Ultimately it led to animal rights activists having to steal the piglets for the artist to change his mind and decipher a better way to raise awareness without abusing the piglets as well. But what do you think? Do you believe that he took it too far or did he raise awareness the right way?
