Falling Back an Hour
When we “fall back” an hour we set our clocks one hour back giving us one extra hour for a single day. When we spring forward we lose one hour for a single day. Springing forward was first used during WWI when electricity needed to be conserved, because of the oil, coal, and resources being used up. The resources needed to be conserved for the troops overseas. The reason this policy/idea worked is because when we gain an hour the lights go out faster. This idea was a success at the time, but now it is an unnecessary policy. At this moment in time there is no need to conserve resources. Since our country is not at war anymore, we don’t need this “springing” and “falling back.” It would be better to just go back to the way it was before the war. In my mind it feels like we went back in time and now we are stuck one hour back, then later we get back.
