A tradition that my family has is having everyone get together on Christmas Eve, rather than Christmas day. On Christmas day, we usually just spend time with our immediate families, but on Christmas Eve everyone gets together. This is a really nice tradition that my family has, because my family lives all across the country. I have family all the way from California, to Nebraska and even Florida, but during Christmas everyone comes back home to Pennsylvania in order to have our annual Christmas Eve get together. Due to this event, Christmas is my favorite holiday, because it is really enjoyable for me to be able to get to see some of my family members who I may have not seen for that entire year! This tradition has been in my family for a very long time, my grandfather said the whole family has been getting together on Christmas Eve since he was a child. That is a very long time, considering my grandfather is now seventy-eight. It would be a sad thing to see this tradition fade away from my family, so hopefully it never does. My hopes are that my cousins and I can carry out this tradition that has been going on for so long. It is very important to keep a family together, especially during the holidays.
