Anthony Patterson – Athlete Article
Anthony Patterson wrestles to make his father happy and obviously wrestles for the fun of the sport. Anthony has wrestled for seven years and throughout his high school career he has lettered for three years. That’s pretty great considering wrestling is one of the toughest sports.
When Anthony was asked who his biggest fan is, he replied with his dad. His dad is his biggest fan. Anthony wrestles to make his dad proud and happy. Considering his dad is his biggest fan. Anthony wrestles for his biggest fan to make him happy.
When Anthony was asked what his stats were last year, he replied with 19 and 11. That sounds like a great season and one to be proud of. Anthony had a great season last year but when he was asked what his favorite memory from last season was, he replied with, pinning my opponent in section finals. This memory is something Anthony will never forget including his stats last season.
This year brings a new season to Anthony. Anthony is looking forward to spending time with his team at practice and being able to support his fellow wrestlers. Anthony has prepared himself for this season by going to wrestling clubs and practicing any chance he could get. He also lifted weights and tried working out any chance he could get. Wrestling at the home mat is Anthony’s favorite. Anthony believes the fans of the team help the team with confidence by coming to the matches and wrestling on the home mat is great for the pride he has of his school.
Anthony has one piece of advice for younger wrestlers, “Never quit, no matter what.”
