Cancellations

School cancellations can be both positive and negative. Schools cancel when they feel that conditions are bad and are not comfortable with sending students out during them. In the school year during the winter months schools will often have to cancel school due to bad weather like snow covered roads, freezing rain, cold temperatures, and etc. Students don’t want to go to school and will often complain about it so when there is a cancellation they are often very excited about it. Cancellations give the students a chance to sleep in, hangout, and basically do anything but go to the place that they dislike the most. They may have a test they didn’t study for or assignments that are due that they didn’t do and when they have a cancellation it gives them an extra day to get to study for that test or do their work. Although cancellations can be viewed positive in those aspects they can also be negative. However many days the school calls  off they are required to makeup by law so this means students could have to come to school on days they originally had off or get out later than originally planned for summer break. Also canceling school means missing classes and all the work they would have had to do in those classes that day. This means as soon as they come back to school they may be bombarded with work they had missed and have to makeup.
