Football

An activity that more students should participate in is football. Football is a great sport that can grow on you. The workout schedule for football can get you into great shape and can also teach you hand eye coordination, and make you a lot tougher.

Football has been a great outlet for me for about 5 years now. I’ve made a lot of great friends through football, and have had help from my teammates to succeed. We all help each other out during practice, such as acknowledging their performance, or cheering them on as they make that final lap around the field. As my teammate Zach Shaffer would say, “We are going to win!”

Football has been a great experience over these past 5 years and I don’t regret playing any of those years. Even if you are not very good at football you still get the chance to play in varsity games and junior varsity games. Junior varsity is really fun because you get to show off what you can do and you also get to play kids your age and size.

Practice is usually hard; it involves a lot of running and conditioning, however we try to make it as fun as possible without moving from the serious aspect of it. Coach Friend would always get us pumped up and he’d say, “Play fast baby!” Plus all of the coaches get involved with practice and don’t just stand there and give orders; they break down what you did and help you improve your game. Also they research the other teams we play and look at their game film and we break down every single play to prepare for them. Also every Thursdays before our games on Friday we have a spaghetti dinner and we all sit down in the locker room and watch game film. Football can also make you tough and give you a new meaning to hard work, and it can open you up to new experiences that develop into wonderful memories.

Football is a great sport and more students should participate in.
