Maria Christy is a senior and a member of the cheerleading squad.

“The thing I like most about cheerleading is supporting the school in all the sports,” said Maria. Home football games are Maria’s favorite to cheer at because she loves seeing everyone come out to support the team. Her goal for her senior year is to make it the best one yet.

Maria started cheering in second grade because she loved watching the high school cheerleaders. Her role on the squad is as a base and a flyer. Maria is inspired to cheer because the younger cheerleaders look up to her.

“My favorite memory from cheering is playing Carmichaels in 2014 when we won by not letting Carmichaels score one touchdown,” said Maria.

Although Maria loves to cheer, she does not see herself participating in cheerleading after high school.
