Back to the Old Grind
Alas, summer is but a fleeting thing. Three months sounds like a long time, but it can fly by ever so quickly. Before you realize it, it will be August and you have only a week of Summer Break left, and then, it is back to school. There are lots of different things to think about when heading back. Some more important to certain people than others. Some people worry about having the right supplies, some worry about their clothes, and some worry about SATs and colleges. This year, it seems I will be worrying more about the latter.
During the 2016-2017 school year, I will be a senior. This means I will be graduating and heading into the world of adulthood. Of course, this means I will be spending a good chunk of the year doing college stuff. Researching different schools, trying to apply, seeing how well my SAT scores match up with school standards, etc. I will probably not even worry too much about High School, because I have so much else going on!
Otherwise, the school year will be laid back. I am not taking too many complicated or involved classes. This means I can spend less time studying and doing something more practical. Maybe get a job. Maybe continue my college search. Perhaps it is just the classic case of ‘senioritis’ setting in. That feeling when you are just completely done with school? You do not want to go, you do not feel it is worth your time going, you do not feel like you are learning anything helpful, especially when you have a lot of other things on your plate already; that is called ‘senioritis.’ It sets in early for some people, often when they already know what they want to do after school. Like those kids who know they are going to join the military after high school? That is their plan, and in their eyes, don’t see a purpose in classes like ‘English Literature’ or ‘Geology’ when they know what their job is and what they ACTUALLY need to know to perform it.
Hopefully, my college search next school year is not a long one, and that the 2016-2017 school year is a pleasant one.
