Joseph Headlee – Athlete Biography
Joseph Headlee is a senior and a member of the football team.
Headlee is looking to become a four-year letterman this year and he hopes to make a huge impact on both sides of the ball on the upcoming season. He was the leader in rush yards for the team last year and going above and beyond expectations for this year would be ideal for him.
“I really want to be able to dominate however I can this year,” Headlee explained. “No matter whether it’s on offense or defense, I just want to help the team win games. I believe I have the ability to carry the ball on offense and score while also making some huge tackles on defense.”
Headlee is a very gifted athlete, but even he himself says that he wants to improve one somethings. No athlete is perfect and Joe knows that, so he will work as hard as he can to be the best possible athlete he can be.
He explained why and how he would improve his game throughout the season. “There’s always room for improvement in the game. I need to just work as hard as I possibly can during the season so that I can progress into the player I need to be to help the team win football games.”
As a senior, Headlee and the rest of the group have never tasted a winning season in their what will now be four years on the team. Being a captain, Headlee looks to help change that by winning some pivotal games this year.
“Every game counts, so we take them one at a time.,” Headlee said. “The conference games will be big this year, namely Avella, Mapletown, West Greene, Fort Cherry, and Cal. Those are winnable games that we could really prove ourselves to be a threat in.”
Headlee believes that the team can be successful if they all come together as a unit. Unity and teamwork are what helps a team win, and Joe believes in that wholeheartedly.
